The Yorkshire Air Ambulance can be airborne in two minutes and travels at speeds up to 154mph. This means its paramedics can give urgent treatment to patients in most need, followed by rapid transfer to hospital. Areas that are difficult or impossible for road ambulances to reach can be accessed quickly and smoothly.
The Yorkshire Air Ambulance relies solely on the generosity of individuals and organisations to help it continue its life-saving work. The charity needs over £7,200 per day to keep the helicopters and highly trained crew in the air.
That's the equivalent of £2.6 million every single year. It's a tall order, but thanks to the fantastic generosity of people across Yorkshire and other regions, many lives have been saved across the county.
